To adopt an animal through NAfA, there is an application process.
The first step is to complete the applicable online adoption application (or in person at our adoption center). Once received, a NAfA volunteer will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your application. Pending approval our volunteers will then complete a standard veterinary reference before arranging for you to visit the animal at the foster home or adoption center.
Kittens under 16 weeks will be adopted on a “foster to adopt” contract, which means that NAfA retains guardianship until they reach an age at which they can be safely spayed/neutered by one of our partnered veterinarians.
