Purple Poppy Days
October 29, 2021 @ 12:00 am - November 11, 2021 @ 11:30 pm
FreeAnimals used in wars are not heroes; they are victims. They do not give their lives; their lives are taken. Animals have been used in wars as messengers, for mine & bomb detection and scouting. They were tasked with carrying men and machinery and sent to the battlegrounds. Animals who lived in areas of combat were also caught up as victims of war not of their own making and over which they had no control.
For the 5th year, NAfA wants to remember these hidden victims of war, by offering members & friends a purple poppy to wear alongside the traditional red one. This in memory of the millions of animals who were and are still used, and often killed in wars.
