Demo for Carriage Horses

July 28 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The local group, AWfAN is organizing a demo in respect of the horses used for carriage rides in Niagara on the Lake, from 12 noon at the main intersection, just outside the Prince of Wales Hotel, Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Please join AWfAN – your help and presence would be much appreciated. They will have literature to give out and some signs, but if you can bring your own sign, that would be helpful too. If you do make a sign, try to relate it to the issue of horses being used this way and not just because of the heat….or another welfare issue. Horse carriage rides should be consigned to the dust bin of history and in this day and age there is no reason whatsoever for this form of ‘entertainment’. If you have difficulty thinking of a phrase for your sign – let us know!

Please note: AWfAN asks that there be no shouting or yelling because this can spook/frighten the horses.

If you can’t make it to the demo, please consider emaling or contacting the councilors & mayor of Niagara-on-the-Lake. You can find their contact details here: www.notl.org/content/lord-mayor-and-council and it would be especially helpful from people living in NOTL.
