Along with the Sociology Dept. at Brock University, NAfA is pleased to co-sponsor the upcoming talk presenting Dr. Lori Marino. Lori is a neuroscientist and expert in animal behavior and intelligence. She is also an expert on marine mammal captivity issues and the 'educational' claims of the zoo and aquarium industry. In 2001, she co-authored a ground-breaking study offering the first conclusive evidence for mirror self-recognition in Bottlenose dolphins, after which she decided against further research with captive animals. Sunday, October 13 from 11 a.m. til 2:30 p.m. join with folks and friends for the last demonstration of the year before MarineLand closes for the season. This event has been organized by Boycott Marineland Canada. Closing Day demo is always an important one. Vegan Cooking Class

Evolve Our Prison Farms was founded in 2016 by Calvin Neufeld and Calvin will be speaking about this project. Evolve is a 100% volunteer-run, supported by experts in law, criminology, environmental science, labour studies, social work and animal therapy, as well as hundreds of prisoners and thousands of Canadians. At least twice a year, NAfA holds a bazaar at the Fairview Mall. They are well supported events, both by volunteers and shoppers.
